DO SOMETHING WONDERFUL FOR YOUR DOG!
My Training Philosophy
Friendly, positive, reward-based training makes it easy for dogs to learn. And it is a valuable bonding experience for owner and dog.
Harsh treatment including physical, verbal or psychological punishment are abusive and unnecessary. I do not work with choke, pinch or shock collars or any method that causes fear, pain, force, stress or intimidation.
Gentle, patient training helps develop a calm, trusting and well-behaved dog who will be a joy to live with.
I Also Believe…
The decision to have a dog includes the responsibility to provide appropriate training. Without that, a dog doesn’t know how to behave properly. Tragically, most dogs that are given up suffer their fate because of avoidable behavior issues.
Dogs enrich our lives so much with their affection, devotion, and companionship. We owe it to them to teach them how to fit comfortably into our lives.
My Training Methods
Evaluate the appropriate level and type of training needed.
Design the training to meet the owner's priorities.
Customize training to best suit each dog, including age, health, breed, temperament and behavioral issues.
Guide the owner/dog team in reward-based training using positive reinforcement (treats, praise, toys, play, walks).
Help the owner create an environment in which the dog is most likely to succeed.
